5 Ways You Can Improve Your Wellbeing Working From Home

Many people are working from home and it looks like it’s going to be commonplace for a lot of 2021 as things are slowly changing and companies are deciding to keep their staff working from home. But there are many ways you can improve your wellbeing working from home and I hope these tips help you!

It can be hard and very lonely working from home, maybe you have distractions going on around you or you are finding it hard without your colleagues around to support or encourage you. Having minimal contact with people but also having to do everything over text or call. Maybe video chat if you are lucky.

However, you can make your working area and surroundings more comfortable and try to make sure you are interacting with your coworkers more and keeping up to date on everything going on around you.

These tips I hope will help you feel a little more comfortable and make you feel calm and relaxed and hopefully improving your wellbeing!

6 Ways You Can Improve Your Wellbeing Working From Home

Utilise your comforts

That is right, you can utilise your home comforts around you and make an atmosphere you feel comfortable and relaxed in.

Do you have a favourite coffee? Make sure you have some on hand for the start of your working day, maybe even bring your coffee machine into your home working area. I have a mini Dolce Gusto coffee machine in my office.

If you have a favourite blanket or teddy throw you like to curl up in, bring it with you to your working area and place it across your lap and legs. The same if you have a comfortable cushion you really like using, use that on your chair or working area.

Houseplants are always a great way to purify the air around you, make you feel calm and relaxed so you want to consider houseplants that clean your air and make your home healthy.

Increase positivity

One way I like to improve my wellbeing working from home is to use oracle cards such as The Universe Has Your Back and Super Attractor which I give a quick shuffle and use that card on my desk as a way to attract something or to give me a boost of positivity and encouragement that I need.

Using positive messages will help you feel more positive and you can get a little easel or card stand to hold your card nearby so you can keep looking at it.

Another way is to purchase positive pictures and wall art of inspirational quotes which you can have in your office or work area to keep reminding you of good and positive vibes.

Scents

Scents are a very powerful tool to uplift your mood and surroundings and there are many ways for you to do this.

Sprays are easy to use and you just spray around you and enjoy the scent.

My personal favourite is using a diffuser and essential oils, I just refill it every 2 days with water and a mix of oils, allowing them to envelope me.

Aromatherapy is very important and can help alter your mood or help make you more focused. I love using aromatherapy for anxiety as it really helps me stay calm and focused throughout the day.

I also have an electronic wax melt gadget that I put my favourite Yankee Candle Wax Melts into which creates a beautiful around my office.

Good Home Office Set Up

You want to make sure you have a very comfortable set up for your home office. This will also help reduce pain, especially back pain from bad seating.

Make sure you have a desk that is high enough and wide enough to put your computer/monitor or laptop on. You will need enough room to get a chair in there and make sure that your monitor/screen is at the right height.

Having an ergonomic chair is worthwhile, especially if you suffer from back pain.

Finally, make sure you have the top computer tools to make your job/work easier and take advantage of the internet tools you have to hand!
