Skincare tips for your face (women over 40+)
Flawless skin that glows with life and confidence is just something some people are born with. Or is it? If you’ve certainly felt that way throughout your teens, 20s, and 30s, the case in your 40s might just be that you haven’t found the right skincare regime or that you haven’t stumbled upon the right products that work for you. Something that you may not have considered is your proximity to heat sources throughout your life – if you live for sitting next to red hot radiators, your skin will be drying out faster than any product or drink of water can reverse the effects. So here are some over 40 skincare tips.
Don’t accidentally clog your pores by trying to unclog your pores
If you are using more than a maximum of two skincare products on your face, you could be introducing too many chemicals that combine to become harsh on your face’s thin and delicate skin. This could mean that you in effect open yourself up to breakouts and clogged pores. Instead choose a sensible gentle daily skincare product that is cleansing and gentle enough to help your skin to shine. See examples at better not younger for scalp care. Remember that the best times to moisturise are first thing in the morning and the last thing at night, with a lotion that is not heavily fragranced (as this could mean there is alcohol present that may smell nice but will work against the moisturising effect of the product). Once the moisturiser is applied, don’t touch your face. If your pores have been cleansed and moisturised, additional touching by your fingers could introduce bacteria, resulting in redness, soreness, and spots. Having both a winter skincare routine and a summer skincare routine is really beneficial at the moment.
The obvious tips that are always worth revisiting
There are skincare tips that it’s hard not to mention. Namely, maximising sleep, minimising stress, and drinking plenty of water. Sleep is when the body repairs itself. Without enough sleep, you’re only replacing your dead and dying skin cells at a reduced rate, which is why sleep is such an easy win when it comes to health and rejuvenation in general. Next, stress. They say stress is a killer for a good reason – it really is. Stress releases hormones that constrict the blood vessels in the skin. This isn’t good news for your skin (and scalp), that will be starved of nutrients. Lastly, water. Water makes up a huge component of your hair. Without it, your body can’t create full looking hair. These are over 40 skincare tips to help you retain your natural beauty.
