Dr Botanicals Hemp Infused Natural Nutrition Moisturiser Review
Skincare is a very big part of my daily routine, as soon as I wake up and before I go bed (and also throughout the day!) I am always making sure my skin is well hydrated. It was a particular moisturiser, the Dr Botanicals Hemp Infused Natural Nutrition Moisturiser that prompted me to write this review.
So of course, I have to delve more into the moisturiser, the brand and what made this moisturiser so good!
Before I crack on, I did receive a sample of the moisturiser to try, but I have since purchased the full range which you can read in my Dr Botanicals Hemp Skincare Review.
Let’s get into the Dr Botanicals Hemp Moisturiser Review!
Dr Botanicals Hemp Infused Natural Nutrition Moisturiser Review
Their philosophy captivated me as I do love 100% natural brands. I have been switching my skincare over the last year or so to more natural products.
What intrigued me was the creation of innovative products – I am one of those people that have natural products and like to make my own things such as lip balms so this really did speak to me.
So of course, after testing this moisturiser, I ended up purchasing the whole Dr Botanicals Hemp Range.
I started using Dr Botanicals as they are vegan, natural and also a strong part of the LGBT brand and their ethics are something I can be proud of.
I will continue to share the products I put to the test and I hope you enjoy them!
About The Product
The hemp line of products are new to Dr Botanicals and I have seen the recent rise in hemp-based products, including products I myself had received in beauty boxes like a hemp lip balm I recently tried.
Now, this boasts a lightweight, highly hydrating formula which is just what my dry skin needs!
Containing Hemp Seed Oil which contains around 8-% of fatty acids that nourish and moisturise the skin. But also containing Cocoa butter which we all know is very good for locking in that moisture.
Rich in minerals and vitamin E which helps soften the skin. But also offers protection from the elements and pollution which can be really bad in high traffic areas of the country.
Can be used on the face, but personally, I also use this on my hands and elbows for silky soft skin!
Dr Botanicals Hemp Moisturiser Review – Packaging
You can purchase this in 2 forms, either in a 30ml sized tube or a 60ml pot.
I do like both options, from having a small tube to carry around for ‘on the go’ quick applications to a large pot to use every day!
They come in cardboard packages which can be recycled, or like me, put to good use with the youngest and his at-home art projects! (Rockets and cars)
The plastic tube and glass pot are also items you can recycle, or in my case, I keep old pots to keep little bits and bobs in. Most of my containers are old bottles and pots for knick-knacks.
Now the 30ml tube is a light, lime green colour and soft to the touch with a little lid you twist off. From there you squeeze out the right amount of product as needed.
So with the 60ml jar, the lid is black shiny plastic and the jar is dark brown glass which keeps the product fresh. Heavy in weight and lovely, thick glass.
Now, The Review!
I was very excited to try something that contained help so of course, I had to make sure that I get this reviewed!
After opening, I squeezed a little on to my hand to see the colour, the texture and of course, give it a whiff. I’m really enjoying the Dr Botanicals Hemp Infused Natural Nutrition Moisturiser.
What really surprised me was that it was green. Yes, the cream is green! But it doesn’t turn your skin green, however, I found that it actually does reduce redness straight away! If you didn’t know, green can counteract redness so if you have red areas, this is a cream you need to try!
It has a medium-thick consistency but spreads out on to the skin very easily, giving it a lightweight texture on the skin. No heaviness, no greasiness and absorbs right away.
Scent wise, it has the faintest, herb-like scent to it. I actually really enjoy this smell and it does dissipate pretty rapidly.
Once I applied this to the skin, it sunk right in and gave my skin a very soft surface to work on. Smooth, not sticky and feels skin like without that feeling some creams can give you where you feel like your skin can’t breathe.
Quite surprisingly, it does give me a matte finish and could apply other products even over the top like a primer. Also it did not create that pilling effect where you rub your face and it comes off in balls of product.
I really enjoyed how smooth and matte my skin was after use.
Over the next few days, I saw this really did help with the redness due to the green tint to the cream. Not only that, my skin was smoother, nourished and moisturised.
After 3 weeks
So after 3 weeks, the dryness was gone. I could exfoliate much less as my skin wasn’t so dry. Something I do a lot is exfoliate and using exfoliating creams, oils and face masks.
But now I am using them once/twice a week, rather than several times.
Redness is much better, but any left is covered with the green tint to the cream.
My skin is looking much plumper now with fine lines slightly filling out.
The papery feel in some areas like my temples has filled out and looking less paper-like.
Radiance is much better, I am quite shocked just how youthful and less ‘zombie’ my skin looks. There is some real hydration going on there!
Combined with the full regime, my skin looks and feels amazing!
The Dr Botanicals Hemp Infused Natural Nutrition Moisturiser is fantastic and a wonderful addition to my skincare collection.
Paired with the Dr Botanicals Night Cream, this created the most beautiful skin I have had for a while!
Final Thoughts
I would like to see a hand cream in this range. Certainly a lip balm and an eye cream – then I would be complete! Dr Botanicals has a wonderful eye serum which I enjoyed, but would like to see a Hemp one too.
The moisturiser is multi-purpose which is great, just means I go through a lot more of it.
As you use a little of this moisturiser, it goes a very long way. I can see me not having to stock up as frequently as I do with other products.
Both the 30ml and 60ml options are very reasonably priced and I will certainly be continuing with this.
Quite a long review, but this cream is amazing and well worth giving it a shot!
You can check out the entire Dr Botanicals Hemp Range where there are more products like the Dr Botanicals Hemp Infused Super Natural Enzyme Mask.
