What Could Help You Get 8 Hours Of Sleep
You know what the daily recommendation for sleep is, everyone does. But getting your 8 hours of sleep a day is harder than you might expect. For example, we get to bed and we find it hard to go to sleep in the first 30-minutes. 1 hour goes by and we’re still trying to close our eyes naturally. Then finally you do get to sleep, but you find that when you wake up you’re still tired. Maybe because you ate into your 8-hour slot by about 1-2 hours. So even if you get to bed early, getting to sleep is a whole other story. It’s vital that you realize this so you can make the following changes to your sleep schedule and routine.
What Could Help You Get 8 Hours Of Sleep
Eat early
You should not be eating any later than about 6:30pm. Your body needs about 12 hours or so to fully digest what you have eaten and you can’t do this while you are awake. This is because the rest of your body is using energy and to digest, process and excrete food you have eaten takes a lot of energy. As our bodies are using strenuous amounts of energy, it’s hard to fall asleep. Did you know that we use about 5-15% of our daily energy just digesting food? This cannot be done while you’re walking around, working, running, etc. it mostly occurs as we sleep. So if you can eat about 6pm, it will allow your body to slowly shut down and get to sleep to focus on digesting food. Besides eating early, you should also remember to maintain good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth before you go to sleep. If you’re facing any dental issues, you can get fillings done by a Dentist in Rockefeller Center.
A relaxant
If you just need something to relax with, rather than reaching for the stereotypical things like a glass of wine, take a look at CBD Oil UK. put this into your food or in a drink and you will see how it relaxes your body and mind. It’s known to reduce stress and anxiety and it can be put into any kind of food you’re eating. The food will mask its flavor but it’s not that strong anyway. You can put this into a drink such as juice and it will work even faster. This should help you to get to sleep quicker so bear in mind when you ingest it.
Set the room
Your bedroom is one of the main culprits for your lack of sleep sometimes. It could be that you have too much warmth accumulating in the room. It’s been known that being slightly colder than normal, helps to sleep easier. This is because the body then brings blood to the core and brain, helping your muscles to relax and be less likely to roll around and try to find the right position. It’s good to have a room thermometer so you can set which temperature you want before you sleep.
Getting your 8 hours of sleep is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. These are some of the things you can do to get them, but research on your own for other ways too.
