Simple and practical skincare guide for your vacation
Have you thought about skincare and why you need it? I write this practical skincare guide to help you find practical skincare that works for you and more importantly, your skin!
We all deserve a break from the norms of our daily activities, and a vacation is something to look forward to. But, breaking away from your duties should not include breaking your daily skincare regime. Although you need time by the pool, spare time to ensure you keep up with your skincare routine. You do not need to carry all your skincare products, but the essentials should find space in your luggage bag. After all, depending on where you’re going and your plans, you might wish to visit a spa or clinic anyway. So if you visiting London for instance, you could visit a highly reputed clinic for skin treatment in London, which will save you bringing all your fanciest skincare stuff with you. Here is a simple but practical skincare guide that will help you keep clear, smooth skin on vacation.
Simple and practical skincare guide for your vacation and why you need to consider your practical skincare.
Prepare for your routine early
When planning for a vacation, you must book your flight, hotel, and itinerary early, or you will suffer inconvenience. The same goes for your skin. If you are preparing for laser hair removal treatment, for instance, you will have to avoid a natural tan even when you are dying to spend a few hours at the beach, or you will have to postpone your procedure. It’s recommended that you avoid tans at least two weeks before your treatment.
To plan better, check your destination’s weather. Is it hot or cold, and which products work best for your skin in such conditions? Gently exfoliating and applying a hydrating mask will keep your skin in good shape, so it doesn’t overreact to changing conditions when you travel.
Pack your travel essentials
When travelling, you need all the space you can get, but somehow, it’s never enough. A good trick is to prioritize your favorite products, whether that be this Essential Skin Food By ActivatedYou or a moisturizer or toner you cannot live without, as well as products that combine different functions so you save on space but still have what you need to keep your skin clear. For instance, buy sunscreen that’s also a moisturizer or a cleanser that has aloe. Don’t forget to carry a hat and swimwear cover, so you don’t overexpose your skin when you visit the beach. This is important to consider and why I mention this in my practical skincare guide.
In fact, aloe has cooling and soothing ingredients, to help keep your skin moisture during your vacation. Another organic product to opt for is goat milk. You can also have pure goat milk soap in your bag for the vacation, as the AHA contained in goat milk is extremely helpful with sunburn. Goat milk is known to heal sunburn quickly, so why not?
Keep your hands from your face
Although you want to have perfect skin, you can quickly sabotage your efforts by touching your face. When travelling, especially with public means, you may end up touching your face with dirty hands. To counter this, ensure you use a tissue or a clean cloth if you need to touch your face while on transit. It’s tempting to rush to the pool or beach when you finally get to your destination. First, wash and moisturize your face before going out. Travelling makes your skin dry and running to the sun will only make it worse. Taking your skincare with you is really important and why I mention this in my practical skincare guide. Practical skincare will give you beautiful and healthy skin.
Carry a facemask with you
Visiting the spa while you vacation is always a welcome treat. But, if it’s not possible, your face mask will come in handy. Usually, you spend most of your time shielded in an office, but one vacation, you will be exposed to more elements. A facemask will also help you prevent breakouts, so you don’t walk around with pimples.
While vacationing, do not forget to keep hydrated by taking in enough water. Include water-based foods such as fresh greens, veggies, fruits, soups, lettuce, zucchini, pineapple, among others. As you take care of your skin, make sure that you enjoy yourself too.
When thinking about your skincare, you want to make sure you are using skincare for your skin type. If you have dry skin, you don’t want to be using skincare for greasy skin as it will make it even more dry. Think about your practical skincare and what you need as you read through this practical skincare guide.
