Gerlinde Naturals – Balancing & Purifying Face Cleansing Oil & Washi! Wash Cloth

Gerlinde Naturals has brought out a wonderful Balancing & Purifying Face Cleansing Oil & Washi! Wash Cloth which gives the face a lovely clean feel but not stripping or drying out the skin.

Here is a little information about the product:

Oil based cleansers have become particularly popular, as they are very gentle and do not over-dry the skin (even oily skin can be over-dried!), but still remove daily grime and makeup very effectively.

This Cleanser is very easy to use and a couple of pumps massaged into the dry face melts away make-up and dirt. Removing the cleanser with a soft, damp cotton cloth won’t leave your skin in the slightest bit greasy. With continued use, it has a balancing and purifying effect on any type of skin – dry and sensitive areas will be moisturised and oily areas will be less greasy.

The cleanser won’t clog your pores and cause breakouts – it will just thoroughly cleanse, moisturise and give your skin a dewy, radiant glow. You might even find by regularly using this method that you will be able to skip expensive moisturisers.

About the cloth:

Try out the new Washi! Hot Cloths – they’re wonderful! A traditional part of Japanese skin care, it’s their perfect texture – not too thick and not too thin, that makes the Washi! “just right”. One huge benefit is that they retain the heat, which is a fantastic way to deep cleanse the skin especially in combination with our Cleansing Cream and Balancing & Purifying Face Cleansing Oil, and just perfect for so many other skin care treatments.

To use: Dampen Hot Cloth in comfortably hot water. Use to remove cleanser, makeup, face masks, face scrubs, oils and serums before applying moisturiser. Skin will feel refreshed and appear polished. When applying indoor tanning products use a Washi! Hot Cloth to remove surplus tanning product from hairline, hands and feet, particularly between fingers and toes.

The cloths launder brilliantly too. Simply pop them in the machine with other light colours at any temperature. They are made of high quality cotton to stand up to tough treatment, including washing at high temperatures to maintain good hygiene and whiteness.

Now for my review:

The product I received was a 10ml bottle that came in a fabulous little box and also with a Washi! cloth.

There is a lovely green tag on the box with a little metal heart attached saying “hand made with love” which is a very sweet touch.

The box was easy to open, once opened there was green paper sealed with a Gerlinde Naturals sticker so to me this was still a little bit of a surprise inside.

Inside the paper was a little 10ml bottle of Balancing & Purifying Face Cleansing Oil with a wonderful Washi! pure cotton hot cloth.

Firstly I took out the wash cloth, the was cloth is pure white and very soft.
I have quite a few different types of hot cloths, this one is the softest I have come across so far.

Next I took out the bottle of cleanser which comes in a blue bottle, as most of you will know, the blue hue keeps out sunlight and stops products going funky, which we all don’t want!

Opening the lid was very easy, it has a cap on that only dispenses droplets which makes getting the product out easy so you don’t end up with too much.

The scent is very nice and really subtle, it’s quite energising too, like a spring morning.

The colour of the cleanser is light orange and is quite a thick oil which melts at fingertips and very easy to apply to the face.

I have used it both with and without make up and will review both separately.

With make up:

With make up, I found it needs a few minutes longer on the skin so it effectively dissolves make up and with the hot cloth, wipes away fairly easily. However, mascara was a little more troublesome and took a few applications to completely rid of mascara, which is normal for a cleanser you don’t use with water.
All of my foundation and blusher came away easily, but I used an old wash cloth as I was worried about staining the cloth with make up, which happens a lot!
The product comes off very easily and leaves skin feeling mosituised.

Without make up:

Without make up, it cleansed my skin effectively and prepped my skin ready for a good moisutirser, which in all honesty, I didn’t need as the product moisturised my skin really well.
It pulled out all impurities and left my skin feeling clean and fresh.

The product was so easy to massage into my skin, I left it on for 10 minutes for a little mini facial and wow, did my face feel fantastic after.
I used the wash cloth which came with the product and it was really soft, but also buffed away any dead skin so my face looked refreshed and energised after use.

It’s a very gentle cleaner and I feel it worked really well on my skin, it also calmed down a few troublesome spots that popped up due to hormones.

The scent is not at all strong, it moisturised my skin really well and found I did not need a moisturiser after use.
You only need a few drops as it covers very well, meaning the bottle will last ages.

All in all, I have to say this is one fabulous cleanser and I would highly recommend it.
