I’m not sure what it is I really like about drugstore brands but majority of my make up collection is drugstore. My every day Rimmel look consists of a full face of Rimmel products that are wearable and long lasting. I got my hands on the Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Range and I was super excited to try this.
I have quite a few ‘must haves’ in my daily make up bag. This does consist of quite a few Rimmel products.
However I have a couple of new products to show you and I think you will really like them! They have certainly been put through their paces and sharing the excitement.
2 of the products I have been putting through the paces is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable foundation and concealer.
I do quite like the Rimmel Lasting Finish products so I felt excited for the lightweight, long wearing new formula that has come out.
I do love new brand ranges, I have so much fun playing with them and testing the new formula.
2 other products I have is the Contour, Highlight and Cheek palette along with a Moisture Renew lipstick.
Are you ready for my look?
Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation
Package design is very much like the original however instead of the red lid, this one is silver. Easy to distinguish between the 2.
It’s the typical glass bottle with a plastic lid in a matte silver finish.
Now what I found intriguing about this product is the applicator.
Genuinely expected a pump however this is not the case.
It’s a large doe foot applicator!
It’s very soft and found I could apply enough to cover my face without repeated dipping. I just swiped on a clean beauty blender or brush.
There is a very slight perfume like scent to the foundation but dissipates fairly quickly.
Now this is a lighter and thinner consistency than it’s counterpart. It doesn’t drip so has a thicker consistency than you would think but it’s certainly lighter and appears al though it may be breathable.
This is not a full coverage foundation, I would say it’s enough to hide uneven skin tone and give you the appearance of less uneven skin.
It covered my freckles but not my moles. It’s good for hiding some blemishes also however really red ones would need colour corrector or a heavy duty concealer.
I really like that this is a rather matte foundation, it feels like a slightly powdery finish and isn’t tacky at all.
I had no need to use a powder over the top which I really like.
Now lasting wise, I found this foundation lasted all day and didn’t wear off as much as other foundations.
Wears very well and looks great throughout the day. This is a new favourite foundation for me.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Concealer
Lately new concealers are in the radar as I tend to use the same couple of concealers and there is always new products out there that everyone is raving about.
Having a new concealer was just what I wanted, I was super excited to get this Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable concealer opened.
What I liked about this concealer is the squeezy tube. I really do prefer these types of packaging as you can get every last drop out of it.
It’s small so fits in all handbags and super easy to use.
Now what caught my attention is the applicator. It’s quite a semi-firm foam ball with a hole in the middle for the product to come out of. I could either dab on with the applicator or swipe it off with a brush and apply to my skin as needed.
It’s a medium coverage so covers redness and blemishes very well without being too heavy on your skin.
The colour matches my skin very well also, blending and masking everything I want hidden including my moles.
Again this has quite a matte effect which I really like, I don’t need to cover with a powder so it saves me some time too.
This does last all day for me, it didn’t crease and stayed smooth around my eye area.
I also found it didn’t run either and stayed put even when I was getting warm.
Rimmel Lips and Cheek
2 items I have are the Moisture Renew Lipstick and the Sculpting Palette by Kate Moss.
I’ve never tried either of the ranges so was really excited to try them out.
The Moisture Renew Lipstick is amazing, the colour I received is in vintage pink.
This is like a dusky rose colour, no shimmer and looks simply beautiful on.
I got a good few hours of colour before it started to fade.
I like how nourished my lips are using this beautiful lipstick. It’s very creamy and feels so comfortable on my lips.
It’s very opaque and didn’t become patchy within a few hours, but as it’s a very nourishing lipstick, you do need to reapply after a few hours especially after eating or drinking as it does transfer.
Now what I absolutely adored was the sculpting palette.
It comes with 3 compartments, the first being a highlight, second a contour and third of course the blush.
The colour I received is ‘Coral Glow’ and this couldn’t be more suited to my skin tone at all.
The highlight is a warm golden tone, it’s not overly shimmery so gives you a natural shimmer to the skin.
It’s perfect for a light skin tone and gives quite a little glow.
Sometimes I just like to have that little glow without it being overpowering and looking more natural.
A powder formula however you can build this up with a wet brush if you want something more powerful.
Contour next, this I really like. Having to admit, it is quite similar to one I use often.
Giving a beautiful, natural warmth to the skin.
Again, a powder formula and blends super easily, without giving that dreaded brown streak we all hate. This is not a muddy products and again is buildable for those days you go for a fake tan.
A very slight shimmer, but instead of looking sparkly, it catches the sun and makes your skin look super sunkissed.
Finally, up next is a gorgeous blush.
Now I know the blush would be used over and over because no joke, it is a close dupe to a few high end blushes.
Application starts of sheer however this is a really buildable formula.
Deepening the colour is easy, simply build up for more colour.
Wearable and providing a gorgeous sweep of colour or build for more.
I really like the Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable range, it’s a foundation concealer that has a slight matte effect and covers rather well without being heavy.
The sculpt kit is small, easy to use and looks amazing on my skin. Very much dupes for other products.
Lastly, the lipstick is one I would certainly reach for. It’s creamy, nourishing and looks fab on.
