My Story Of Hope
Everyone has a story of hope, from the little to the small. From the short, sweet to lengthy and sour.
We have all been through something that has had a good outcome in the end, had a negative turn into a positive and here is mine.
For many years I have struggled with exhaustion, pain coming later on.
Doctors were as much help as a chocolate fire guard and left me struggling with daily life.
After the birth of my 3rd son, this got incredibly worse. Again, for a year I was pushed from one GP to another with no valid explanation. The most I got was ‘it’s probably this, but nothing I can do…’ met with stony silence.
I eventually go referred to the pain clinic in another town and by this point I could barely cope.
I struggled getting in and out of bed, I couldn’t pick up my 1 year old.
Coping I was not…
I had an idea I had fibromyalgia, from the vague assumption from a GP but I really didn’t know.
Wondering if it was something worse, or how to cope, how to deal with the pain and crippling exhaustion.
Walking into the pain clinic, I was overcome with a wave of dread. I knew I would be fobbed off, sat tearful waiting to go in.
Long story short, I was listened to, helped, I got support and an answer to every question.
Within a month I was in a lot less pain and able to get around, got back into work and life went on from there.
Every day is still a fight, but I have hope that things will get easier one day. I cope much better and hope every day there will be something better for me.
My life changed, at first for the worst but now for the better. I love my life, even though I struggle going out and doing things, but it’s okay.
I made a better life for myself and have wonderful (online friends)
Going from having to leave my job, struggling with money to finally being able to work again and not having the pressures of lack of money, worrying if I will get rent or bill money.
Every person has a story. Every person has hope.
Sometimes we have things that can help, things to help us get to where we want to be.
Whether it is an illness, a job or simply just things that can help with your daily life.
Oxfam are going to be spreading stories of hope, changes to lives with the donations that have been spread around.
The little things that have made people hope for a better future, hope for a better tomorrow and hope for life.
I can’t wait to see others stories of hope, from any background, for any reason.
Oxfam have done loads to help families and individuals. From building, clothing, food, water to bedding and various other needs that people have in third world or war torn countries.
We may go through our struggles, but our struggles may seem slight in comparison to others in these areas of the world.
We can take things for granted, I know I did like being able to walk whenever I want. Now I would give anything to be able to go out shopping without being in pain.
You can add your own story of hope, just donate online and help spread the hope.
Do you have a story of hope? Please tell me yours, I like to read them.
