So occasionally we want a trip that is a little bit different to the usual sun, sea and sand, or even snow! So we get looking on the internet to find fun things to do. Skiing, mountain climbing and road trips are the norm, but what about travelling by boat?
I don’t mean cruise ships, I am literally meaning going down a river on a boat.
I found some exciting places where you can travel by boat, but also read more here for more information!
Grand Canal by Vaporetto, Venice, Italy
We all know the best way to travel around Venice is on a gondola through the beautiful streets.
The Grand Canal is also the best place to take a boat trip down, showing some beautiful sights such as Rialto Bridge, Ca’ d’Oro, San Giorgo Maggiore, and Il Palazzo Ducale.
Not only that, it is also relaxing and can be romantic, especially at night.
Longtail boat ride along the Tembeling, Malaysia
Malaysia is a beautiful place to visit and the boat ride along Tembeling is one you must consider.
Beautiful sights along the way as well as you can also see some tribes along the way and have a look into another life that we rarely see.
If you wanted to go a bit faster, you can also hire a speedboat, but you don’t want to miss the scenery.
Punting along the River Cam, Cambridge, England
Good old merry England! We have quite a few canals spotted around the UK but the river Cam in Cambridge has some wonderful sights along the way like King’s College, Queens’ College, the Bridge of Sighs, and the Mathematical Bridge. Or take a detour and go to the pretty and gorgeous village of Grantchester.
Long boat from Phi Phi Don to Phi Phi Le, Krabi, Thailand
There is nothing more spectacular than the water over at Thailand, this spectacular boar ride glides through crystal blue waters.
You can see areas such as Phi Phi Don which were rebuilt due to the Tsunami.
More so, the scenery is wonderful but the water is even more breath taking!
There is many places around the world that offer wonderful boat rides, it seems to be something we leave off our bucket lists!
