Craft Your Own Christmas Cards – 3 Ideas For Crafting Fun Christmas Cards
This year, I wanted to give more the personal touch now I have some spare time on my hands so I thought about writing a Craft Your Own Christmas Cards post with some ideas for creating your own Christmas Cards.
Whether you create your own cards online and print them onto card or you craft your own using different things you can get your hands on – you can be sure to give the personal touch to your Christmas giving this year.
With some of us having to do things online, you can even learn to create your own e-card!
It’s a fun way to get your children involved and create some wonderful memories and also some lovely keepsakes for the rest of the family.
Or you can just pass the time and make them with things you already have around the house like paint, glitter, cotton wool.
So here are some ideas for Christmas cards you can make either online or offline.
Craft Your Own Christmas Cards
E-Cards
The first one I wanted to mention is creating your own e-cards. Whether you use an online generating tool or you create them on Word or Paint – you can be sure to give them a personal touch and include clip art and pictures of you and your family to give that personal feeling to it.
Using sites like Hallmark ECards which is a site you can create your e-card and send it off to the email addresses you need it to be. They are customisable to a degree, but you have to use their own templates.
Using Paint or Word you can create your own e-cards and simply email them off to people. They can then print them off and saves spending money on posting them out or even giving them to someone on the other side of the world.
Choose images online using free clip-art or image sites where you can move them around the card and place them in ideal places on your card.
If you have someone that loves dogs, you can look for free images that are cute and tailored to them, or see if they have pictures of their beloved animals and include them on the cards. Why not use clip art or picture frames on there too and make them look really cute and fun!
We all love a Santa hat on a cat!
Printed Cards
Whether you use a program like Paint or Word maybe even a dedicated site to create them – you can create a card that is perfect for you and whoever you are sending it to.
There are so many fancy fonts that you can use to make the card fun, personal and dedicated to the person you are sending it to.
Why not find one of the many clip art websites where you can find some really cool Christmas related images and include them in your cards.
You could put in pictures of your family too on to the cards and have some fun putting sunglasses or Santa hats on them?
There are also many ways you can have some fun with the cards, grab pet pictures, pictures of snow scenes or even draw your own if you are feeling adventurous. You can get the kids involved!
You can then print them off on card and send them to whoever you like!
Crafting Christmas Cards
You don’t have to go out of your way and buy loads of crafting things to make your cards, you can just use what you have around the house.
Glitter, cotton wool and pens and paint are always a good start! Add tin foil stars, cut out little snowflakes and hunt for the things just sat there waiting to be used. Use your imagination!
Even little bits of fabric from old clothes would make some wonderful crafting bits and bobs.
All you would really need is glue and a wander around your home looking for the different things you could use.
If your kids are crafters, rope them in and raid their stash!
Paint, pen and even crayon, there are many ways you can make colourful, fun cards.
Creating Your Own Cards
Whatever you do, whether you are crafting, painting or even drawing out your own cards, you can have fun with it and include those that you love in creating them.
