Warning Signs Your Body Needs a Reboot
You wake up feeling tired, check your phone, and are immediately behind. By the time your day has begun, your shoulders ache, your tummy is uneasy, and every little noise sounds louder than it did yesterday. Not everyone hits a wall at once; the body will usually start sending warnings (whispering) many times before it gives you a complete stop.
Feeling Fatigued Even After Getting Plenty of Rest
Feeling tired even when you have had plenty of rest is a sign that there is a problem with how your body is functioning. Most people get enough sleep each night. It is unlikely that you are getting enough rest if you wake up feeling tired every morning. Stress has caused a state of chronic activation. Your mind will keep going while your muscles remain in a constant state of contraction. Therefore, you do not achieve deep sleep. Consequently, you will be tired all day long. When you drink caffeine, it can provide an energy boost for one to two hours. Then you will most likely go through another crash. This type of fatigue usually isn’t laziness; rather, most people feel overworked, and they cannot recover from the demands placed on them during the course of their day.
Constant Physical Tension
The need for a complete system reset can also be demonstrated through persistent tension in the body. When do you find that your jaw clenches most of the day? How frequently are you experiencing a stiff neck? Are you having chronic low back tightness? By what hour of the afternoon have you experienced at least one headache each day?
These symptoms are commonly explained away by prolonged sitting or long commutes. In reality, however, if your body remains in an ongoing state of tension, it will start to treat normal events as emergency situations. This means that you will want to use various methods to help provide some level of support to your body. This could include stretching, walking outside while avoiding your phone and earbuds, or getting regular massage therapy. This type of therapy will help relax your muscles so they will be able to rest and repair.
Your Nervous System Can Only Handle So Much Pressure
The nervous system can only sustain itself at optimal performance for a certain period of time. If it experiences too much pressure, then it will fail. An example of this would be extreme fatigue disguised in some way. While most of us view irritability as anger (which is a more intense emotion), we are often simply exhausted and do not know what else to call it.
Stress Will Affect All Of Your Body Processes Including Digestion
Most people are unaware that stress doesn’t just affect your brain. Stress affects all areas of the body. This includes digestion. Were there times when you have eaten and had no appetite? Times when you craved sweets in excess? Meals didn’t seem to break down like they used to, even though you ate the same foods your whole life.
When you are feeling stressed out, your body does its job by prioritizing the necessary bodily functions over others, such as digestion. When you are trying to get things done during stressful periods, your body will slow down digestion so you can get things done rather than waste energy on something unnecessary.
A hard reset does not need to mean disappearing for a month. Sometimes it starts with one honest weekend, an earlier bedtime, fewer commitments, and paying attention to what your body has been trying to say for weeks.
