Amazing EOS Lip Balm Review

I’ve been using EOS lip balms for many years now and they are up there in my top 3 lip balms, so of course, I had to do an EOS Lip Balm Review and give my opinions and which flavours I have tried!

Another brand I really enjoy is Burts Bees Lip Balm and I also have many lip balms from them too! Depending on my mood or condition of my lips, I will change it as needed. Going for natural products, Bee Good Lip Balm Trio is a fun way to have a beautiful glossy lip balm for your needs.

My lips are very dry and I have a lot of peeling skin on my lips. Gross I know, so I have been using lip scrubs like Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrub and making my own Sugar Lip Scrubs also.

I’ve been using liquid lipsticks for the last few years and they really dry my lips our, so I needed a lip balm that would be moisturising and help with the dryness on my lips.

So for the last few years, I have tried a massive range of lip balms and after using several varieties I wanted to talk about them.

I have Honeysuckle Melon, Lemon Drop, Strawberry Milkshake, Sweet Mint, Honey and Pomegranate Raspberry EOS Lip Balm.

EOS stands for Evolution of Smooth.

EOS Lip Balm Review – About the balms

There is quite a large range and it appears flavours are not permanent as my very first blams are no longer sold and the range seems to change every couple of years (When I decide to buy more).

They are vegan, certified organic, free from parabens, petrolatum and gluten. Dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic and of course, not tested on animals. So this is the brand I would use!

Generally, the formula consists of Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil. With a combination of scents, flavours and natural ingredients.

100% natural which is an even bigger plus for me. I am switching from chemicals to natural products so having a range of lip balm that are natural is obviously a brand I would be attracted to.

A brand you can totally get behind as EOS have partnered with TerraCycle to recycle the plastic packaging.

The Packaging!

Each balm is in a spherical shape and the top screens off to reveal a dome-shaped balm. Now I like this as they are easy to apply and no getting any product on my fingers. I love the tins, don’t get me wrong. But with the world, as it is and being a germaphobe, I only use them when I am at home.

So I needed packaging that is convenient, easy to use and easy to clean. With the twist balms, I worry about dirt getting in there or being harder to clean, with these, there is no hidden spaces for things to grow.

For me, they are ideal and fit in pockets, bags etc.

They have released stick versions, but I have not yet found them in the UK, so not sure when they will be available.

Now, the products are made from plastic but they have been working hard to ensure they are sustainable and also reducing the plastic use. Working with TerraCycle to ensure the packaging is recycled. I’d like to see a recycling scheme where you can send x amount of packages for a free lip balm.

In all honesty, I keep the packaging and refill them with products I made for personal use. From mini deodorants to spot care. I also reuse the containers for the lip scrubs I make.

I really like the convenience with the EOS Lip Balm and ability to reuse the packaging.

I’ve found myself purchasing EOS Lip Balm gift sets as there are loads of wonderful EOS gift sets to choose from.

Now for the review!

I find the formula is slightly different, for example, my Strawberry Sorbet was thicker and harder to apply. At times, it felt like the balm was dragging a bit and had to warm the balm a little to get a perfect application of the lip balm. Yet others applied amazingly.

Some are creamier and others are balmier. Then some are harder and some are a bit softer. It’s best to check the individual reviews for the EOS Lip Balm to see what consistency it is.

But I really enjoy the balms and keep stocking up every time I run out.

After the first application, my lips are instantly feeling less tight and sore. I apply this about an hour before I use a lip scrub as it softens the skin and helps buff off the dead skin. I’m one of those that get a lot of dead skin on my lips.

Once you have applied the EOS lip balm, it does leave a thin layer on the skin but this hydrates throughout the day. I found I only needed to apply every few hours.

I also use these on top or under liquid lipstick because my lips become really dry otherwise and this gives a bit of moisture. The EOS Lip Balm is really great for softening my very dry lips before, during or after using liquid lipsticks.

So, I used these balms every day continuously throughout the day and I found there was less dry skin on my lips and they were much more plumper and moisturised. Giving my lips a more healthier look and less wrinkling around the mouth which was due to dry lips.

Although these are for lips only, I bought the honey one to use on dry spots of skin I have that are occasionally problematic and struggle to shift. Although these are marketed for the lips, I found that they can be used on the skin. You are left with a bit of residue but it’s cool. Massage in and off you go.

They last about 3 months with me if I use them every day for several months and like everything else, they need replacing around 12 months as they start to smell like plastic. A sign that butters are turning rancid.

When thinking about my EOS Lip Balm Review, I really wanted to make sure that I made a warning that these do turn after about 12 months of being open, so would advise to only open the EOS Lip Balm when you need it.

Final Thoughts

Given I bought a balm years ago as there was nothing that caught my eye, I fell into love with the EOS lip balm range and always finding a new one to try.

They are easy to use, easy to store and you can literally reuse the packaging. Wonderful for other things if you like to make your own products.

EOS is certainly a brand that I really like and I am going to be looking for more products in their range.
