My Winter Morning Skincare Routine
Winter is a terrible time for my skin, my skin becomes really dry and patchy and I suffer with redness quite often.
So I have decided to showcase my ‘Winter Morning Skincare Routine’ and also my night one which is packed with even more products.
My Winter Morning Skincare Routine
Firstly let’s get to cleansers.
I alternate 2 types of wash cleansers purely because both are great for fighting spots and blemishes which is something I struggle with often.
This is a deep cleansing face wash specifically designed for troublesome skin and those that suffer with problematic skin like eczema, psoriasis and dry-prone skin.
It’s deeply nourishing as well as gentle, does not strip your skin and provides an excellent deep down clean.
I use this every morning with my Magnitone Facial Brush as I feel this provides deep down cleansing.
It has an invigorating, awakening scent that is a kind of fruity and fresh scent. Almost like mango and apricot mixed together.
It does not dry the skin and helps on problematic areas like my nose, chin, cheeks and forehead that have terrible dry skin and blemishes.
It’s gentle, even gentle enough to use when my skin flairs up and gets slightly sore from general irritation.
It foams up a little and what is even better, it is paraben free.
This is an exfoliating wash so I only use this a few weeks ago.
I actually purchased another Garnier facial wash from Asda to use daily however it must not have been ins tock at the time as it was substituted.
I needed one to replace the Salcura as I am running low and wanted one there and then.
So this wash as beads in, to exfoliate so it’s not really a wash I can use daily with my facial brush, so I use this every few days for a deep down exfoliation.
This has a medicinal scent to it and it’s clear with tiny blue beads in.
It foams up and cleanses really well, keeping blemishes and spots under bay.
I have noticed it does help with blackheads and do not have as many as usual now. Also new ones are no longer appearing.
It exfoliates well and cleanses real good.
Perfect for the morning.
I use this after facial washes so it gives me a lovely deep nourishing cleanse, with it being a balm also, it moisturises and stops any tightness and dryness appearing as some face washes can be really stripping of the skin.
The reason I use this in the mornings is because of the additional use. It is really good to use to clear the sinuses and ease my sore throat.
With eucalyptus and peppermint out, it’s fabulous for clearing the airways.
You can simply pop a little in a bowl of hot water and use as a steamer, cleansing your skin at the same time.
Or using a hot cloth, pop over the face and inhale the vapour.
It’s such an awakening vapour as well so it’s great to perk yourself up in the morning.
Now for the skin, I have noticed it deeply cleanses the skin when I used at night for example, the dirt comes off on the cloth from pollution and so on.
It is great for taking off makeup also.
I find this is more suited to mornings as it does give my skin so much moisture and nourishment that it needs.
It’s a great cleanser and I have since stocked up!
That is my morning cleansers done, now for toners and serums.
I originally got this toner in a beauty box and I have not looked back. I have not used anything else since.
A natural toner that is thin like water and is easy to apply, absorbs straight away and helps nourish my skin.
It purifies, tightens and does help get rid of the deeper dirt that can get missed with cleansers.
The conditioning effect is great, giving smooth supple skin and finally it does help revive skin.
Especially as my skin is terribly dull, I need help reviving and nourishing.
It smells really floral and packed full of essential oils.
The witch hazel can be detected too giving it a woody scent also.
It’s a very gentle and refreshing toner, even great when skin is sore and inflamed. Perfect for my Winter Morning Skincare Routine.
This is my staple facial oil. I have many, with different properties but this, this is my most reached for oil.
So much so I now use this daily without fail.
The scent is interesting, it’s slightly spicy, very rich and has a slight zing to it.
The oil is really thin however it works so well.
It is amber in colour, matches the scent. Deep, bright and vibrant.
It’s not like your average oil and feels ‘Oily’… I know you can laugh but I am sure you know what I mean. Oils sometimes feel greasy but this one is not.
The absorption is off the scale, it absorbs within minutes and does not leave much of a film on your skin.
A sheen is left on the skin giving the appearance of vibrant and anti-fatigued skin.
Over time, it rids of fatigue, adds vibrancy and eradicates the dull lacklustre appearance I have.
Deeply nourishing, plumping and leaves me with more radiant looking skin.
Also redness was eliminated after a few weeks.
Finally eye cream and moisturiser.
I have been using this eye cream now for well over a year and it is the only eye cream so far I have used that works.
It’s a lightweight cream that is gentle enough for the delicate eye area.
Super absorbent and does not leave a film on the skin.
This eye cream has been my staple and I always end up going back to it.
The only eye cream that has worked for me and helped eliminate my terrible dark circles and fatigue.
I haven’t noticed anything with fine lines as at the moment I have none but my skin is very smooth and soft.
The fatigue and dark circles for the most part are gone, unless I get exhausted and they come back but no where near as bad. They quickly go if I keep using this eye cream which is great.
It smells a little like oranges so perfect for the mornning, refreshing and zingy.
I recently got this super duper cream from Kiehl’s (THANK YOU!) and I have to say it is simply the best moisturiser I have ever used.
It’s lightweight, scent free and so absorbing, my skin drinks this stuff for fun.
It really nourishes and moisturises the skin, it’s a great base for foundation too as it does not leave the skin oily and it gets rid of the dry patches of skin so I have flawless looking makeup.
It is my winter skin saviour. It helps protect against the awful weather conditions, being on the coast we seem to get the ice cold gusts of wind from the sea so it’s always wise to have a great prduct like this handy for the cold weather that is approaching.
The formula is supposed to give you nourishment throughout the day and that it does, even with make up, or none.
My skin feels soft all day long and even when out in the cold, my skin still feels and looks great regardless.
It’s my new favourite and knocked any other cream I have ever used way off the shelf.
Finally, it is time for my lips, I have a big collection of lip balm but this, this one is my favourite…
Anyone that knows me, knows my favourite scent and flavour is vanilla.
So I was faffing around on twitter as I do and spoke to them where they asked if I would like to try it… How could a lip balm obsessive say no?
It’s in the famous packaging with a blue lid and as soon as I take the lid off, I am hit with pure vanilla. VANILLA! A real vanilla scent. Did I say vanilla enough?
I love Burt’s Bees lip balms purely because they are natural and work for me personally.
They nourish and do not leave a film on my lips like a lot of balms do.
I also find some balms dry my lips more but these do not.
Now the vanilla one is so nourishing, my lips feel and look great.
I stroke this along my lips, basking in the pearls of scent that escape.
I really like how my lips never seem to feel yucky, like sticky or oily. They just feel great with this balm.
I do get a lot of dry skin on my lips and I feel this balm helps a lot to eradicate or ease the dryness.
So Burt’s Bees, make a lip scrub already?!
Winter always seems to make my skin really suffer so I need skincare that really works, so this is my collection.
Tell me, what products do you enjoy? Do you change your skincare to suit the elements?
