Why Is Hold Music So Awful?

Why is hold music so awful? Why do I feel depressed and blue after waiting on hold for an hour, listening to some awful music that gives me a headache?

Is this a thing everyone feels? As I know I certainly feel it!

I could block my ears up, tear my hair out, anything to stop this awful music!

Occasionally you get a call centre with some upbeat songs, like the Beatles.

But majority of the time, it’s awful.

Googling telephone numbers for a quicker hold time is fruitless, I spend ages scouring for quick access to a call centre to deal with my issue.

Then Tah Dah! Along came Contact Number UK.

They have a list of most big businesses with a phone number where you are not waiting on hold for hours and hours.

I can now get on with my cleaning and running around like a headless chicken instead of sitting at my desk, waiting for someone to pick up the phone.

Call centres seem to be constantly busy, wait times can be anything from 3 minutes to 3 hours, depending on where you call.

Some are even hard pressed to find a contact number so you look to other ways of contact.

Web chat is pointless, usually they say they can not assist and need to call. Well what is the point of a web chat then?

Email, well you can wait anything from a few hours to 12 weeks! I know? Insane!

Then complaints, well don;t get me going about that!

I want it over with as soon as possible, not getting annoyed or anxious as I wait.

A smooth, quick call makes me happy! Happy customers is what everyone wants right?

How do you get on with hold music? Does it make you want to plug your ears up too? Maybe rip your hair out?
