Real Cigs Vs E-Cigs: Who Wins?

The great debate: Real Cigs Vs E-Cigs – Who will win?

Regular readers of my blog will know about the plight of quitting smoking. If you don’t or aren’t a usual subscriber, you can learn more here. Cutting down and eventually stopping is one of the hardest things in the world, and not just because of the addiction. Smokers will know that there are pros and cons of quitting equipment, and they mess with a person’s mind. Of course, this is a rather unsubtle dig at electronic cigarettes or e-cigs. Vaping is popular but it will never replace a true smoke. Plus, there are health issues to consider too.

So, which side is right in the real cigs versus e-cigs debate? Let’s take a look.

Health

In the past, experts and medical professionals were worried about the impacts of vaping. Because it was a relative unknown, there was no way to tell if an e-cig could be just as harmful. Well, the NHS has put the myth to bed with a comprehensive study that was released last year. In February 2017, the National Health Service concluded that vaping is ‘far safer’ than traditional smoking. In layman’s terms, people who made the switch had fewer toxins and cacogenics in their system after six months. There are many places you can look into e-cigs and smokingthings.com is a great place to start your search.

Dating

Part of life is finding a person to love and including them in your existence. Smoking has been known to put people off because of the taste and smell. It may make sense to become a vaper to find love, but the statistics disagree. Regarding smoking or vaping on dating apps, pictures with real cigarettes get a better response than those with e-cigs or none at all. People will point out that online dating isn’t the only way to meet a partner, and that is true. However, 20% of relationships start online nowadays. Tinder and Bumble users, then, may want to think twice about their profile pics.

Money

An addiction forces people to think and act irrationally. Still, the cost of living means that you can’t help but factor in the expense of paying for a vaping kit or a pack of Marlboro Lights. Smokers with cast iron will and determination will opt for the one that’s cheaper because money makes the world spin. In this case, it’s the vaping equipment that works out at almost £2,000 a year less than smoking cigarettes. A budget pen can set you back as little as £1,200 compared to £3,000 for smokes.

Socialising

Smoking an e-cigarette inside is illegal now, which means you have to go outside anyway. However, the experience is not the same or even remotely similar. As you stand there with a bulky gadget from MI5 HQ, everyone else passes around cigs and tobacco. Then, they ask for a light and instantly start chatting about nothing in particular. In simple terms, vaping is terrible for meeting new people even when you are outside with the same crowd. Plus, quitters have a doubly hard time because the smell of smoke kick-starts their addiction. Gives you the initiative to quit smoking.

In conclusion, real cigs can help in dating and socialising arenas. However, in health and money, where it matters, e-cigs come out on top by a wide margin.
