What is MTB? Mountain Biking Or Bicycle Racing
MTB stands for mountain biking or bicycle riding. It is known as off-road cycling. They contain more powerful breaks, lower gear ratios, straight and extra-wide handles and dropper-posts. These features help a person to improve balance during the ride, climbing and allows them to adjust the seat height as and when a person wants to.
What are MTB goggles?
The goggles used to protect one’s eyes from external problems during biking are known as biking goggles. They are the eyewear that helps one have a clear vision during mountain biking, cycling, riding, and many other adventures. These goggles help one against bugs, dust, high-speed wind, splashing water/mud, and protect against the accidental falls. They are similar to the goggles that children wear at the time of swimming in the pool.
When are MTB goggles used?
Usually, the riders use these goggles during the down hilling as one needs to cover their entire face during these times where the ride includes many bumps, numerous jumps, and drop-offs. At such times the rider must be thoroughly cautious about their safety and, most importantly, with the face and eyes. And so one will surely wear a helmet that covers their entire face and the goggles that can protect the 360 degrees of their eyes. MTB goggle is one such goggle that lets the person have comfort and protection to their eyes as they always maintain complete contact with one’s eyes at every hurdle and jump in the ride. There is no chance of the goggles getting loose or falling to one’s nose as they get fit against the face with foam padding, which lets the goggles settle strictly to one’s eyes.
Is it mandatory to wear goggles?
It is totally and essential for one to wear goggles as they securely protect one’s eyes from sun rays and external hurdles. They help one to be self-conscious and also increase one’s confidence on the trails. One can easily focus on the riding apart from the fear of getting themselves into some accident.
Why are goggles better than Glasses?
Another reason for using MTB goggles instead of glasses is that there is a big chance for glasses breaking or getting damaged during the ride due to the high jumps and adventurous moves. The metal frames or other parts of the glass pieces getting poked into one’s eyes is another menacing problem. Henceforth the problem of goggles getting damaged or broken is comparatively more minor than that of glasses. They are safe as they are made from a material called “polycarbonate plastics”, and straps from “stretchy fabrics” that provide distortion free-vision and which is unbreakable. It is also waterproof and so lets a person have a clear vision during foggy or rainy times. But one must be careful during misty rides as numerous accidents may occur sometimes. They must also look after choosing the lens colour. The lens must be lightly coloured, transparent and must be the transition lenses.
Can one wear ski goggles during MTB?
The frequent mistake that people usually make is making their assumptions that the ski goggles and the MTB goggles are the same. But actually, they are not. If one observes the goggles clearly, they can say that the goggles used for biking are flat-shaped for tear-offs. In contrast, ski goggles are comparatively convex-shaped to bead water, snow and other such materials to the edges for the keenness of vision. Therefore one must always wear suitable and perfect goggles for their sports adventures.
