When we start doing up our homes, there is so much we can choose from in order to have our homes looking beautiful. There are so many different types of ceilings and I am going to discuss the widely used ones.

A ceiling we may never really think about but sometimes it would be nice to have a lovely ceiling that fits the purpose, matches the decor and just gives the home a ‘homely’ feel.

Sometimes we don’t want to be spending too much money so we have to be careful of the budget also.

Here are some ideas for types of ceilings you can go for.

Types Of Ceilings

Conventional Ceiling

The most common type is a conventional ceiling, that is flat with straight edges.
Easy to decorate and can add other things such as coving.

Tray Ceiling

This is quite a lovely looking ceiling, it resembles a tray in the middle where the centre is more inwards, then has sides that pop out to give it a dimensional look to it. Checking out tray ceiling ideas online can give you a variety of ways to implement this in even the most insignificant of spaces to enhance their visual appeal.

Coffered Ceiling

This has crown moulding to give it the look of beams, you can either have this going straight across or in patterns such as squares.

Beam Ceilings

You can get some beautiful timber ceilings that have the old cottage look. I really do like this as an option for a ceiling as it stands out and makes the rooms look smaller.

There is quite a few options to look into when you are considering making your home look more beautiful and the ceilings are one way to make your mark.
