Something’s Not Right With Boo
Have you ever wondered if somethings not right with your partner?
Whether you call your partner darling, boo, bae, sweet pumpkin or even sunshine cuddly bear, you’ve grown close enough to notice when something doesn’t feel right. Perhaps boo doesn’t cuddle as much as you used to. Or maybe your darling is starting to show signs of impatience and exasperation when you’re together. Regardless of what they are, you’ve noticed signs and even patterns that your partner’s attitude is changing in the relationship.
First of all, you can’t afford to jump to conclusions immediately. Indeed, there is always more than one explanation for those changes. Therefore, if you want to help your partner and your relationship, you need to stay pragmatic about the situation. Identifying what the problem might be could be the best way of moving forward.
Don’t get mad, talk it through
Are they going through a lot of stress?
Work-related stress is one of the most underrated killers of the 21st century. From hectic work environment to tight deadlines, it’s fair to say that more and more professionals work overtime to be able to manage their overwhelming duties and workload. If you add to the mental fatigue the fact that some offices actively promote conflicts and disparities between coworkers as a way of encouraging hard work – unfortunately, based on the fear of being sacked –, you can be sure that boo is having a rough time at work. Coping is never easy, and for some people, the only stress relief they find is in a bottle at the end of the day. Perhaps it’s a good idea to discuss coping strategies and show your empathic side. Boo will need all your support and love to check into an alcohol rehab clinic if you want to improve things. Additionally, when stress is linked to work, the simplest solution is to change jobs. But what if the stress they’re experiencing is related to something they can’t change? Developing a healthy coping strategy takes time!
Are you spending enough time together?
When you’re both running busy professional schedules, it can be tricky to find time to spend together. However, if you both can’t invest sufficient time in your relationship, it’s natural to notice some distance over time. Perhaps you could plan a date night together?
Alternatively, you could be spending too much time together. Is boo going mad at you about little things that don’t matter? Maybe your darling needs some me time to recenter their energy. The truth is every couple needs to schedule some time apart, aka a day without each other. It’s the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends, find new things to talk about or planning a girls’ or boys’ night out.
Don’t make it worse!
It’s healthy to go through doubts when you’re in a relationship, especially when life gives you a rough time. However, losing your temper is only going to worsen the situation. Communication counselors estimate that almost half of all breakups and divorces could have been avoided if people had been ready to communicate through their issues. In other words, offer an attentive ear and a supportive shoulder when your darling isn’t ok instead of throwing more drama in their direction!
We all get caught up into a rough time. But if you can find a way to help your boo, you can learn to grow closer and stronger together.
