Moy Park Seeded Mozzarella Sticks Review And Chilli Cheese Nachos
I really enjoy making fun foods and recipes myself, so was thinking about what I could do with my favourite snack, mozzarella sticks. After trying the delicious Moy Park Seeded Mozzarella Sticks I wanted to create a really delicious Chili Cheese Nacho dish using the mozzarella sticks too.
This is a recipe you can use at a part, as a family meal, or as a side dish to go with something pretty delicious.
I’m just pointing out that I am vegetarian so this dish is using vegetarian options, but you can change to meat, vegetables or turkey. Whatever you fancy, it works for everything.
All you need to make is a chilli, cheese sauce (can be spicy or not) and have some dips and dipping foods. Nachos, mozzarella sticks, dippers, onion rings. You can even throw in a baked potato. How delicious does that sound?
First, let’s look into the Moy Park Seeded Mozzarella Sticks review.
Moy Park Seeded Mozzarella Sticks Review
We eat a lot of mozzarella sticks, but these stand out to me personally as they have sunflower, poppy and pumpkin seeds on them. This makes them a bit different and more delicious and crunchy.
The outer shell when cooked is crunchy, delicious and very tasty. Then inside you get a beautiful mozzarella that tastes premium, creamy and moreish.
You can have these as a side dish or a snack. They are perfect on their own as they are so full of flavour. But can also be dipped into an array of delicious dips. My favourite is a nacho style dip.
Once baked, they have a golden outside which is super crunchy. They look utterly delicious.
The seeds give the mozzarella sticks a deep, nutty taste. I would say these are more adult orientated, perfect for parties and adult gatherings.
Now, let’s talk about that cheese pull. I rarely find a mozzarella stick with that cheese pull we see on TV. Ever.
I got a cheese pull. I could not believe it. The cheese pull is perfect.
Now, the mozzarella is creamy, tasty and just what you want in a mozzarella stick. It is quite a richer mozzarella which I really enjoy. I was really surprised at the deliciousness of it.
These mozzarella sticks are absolutely delicious in every way, on their own, with chilli or a dip.
Chilli Cheese Nachos
The perfect pairing with mozzarella sticks is Chili cheese nachos!
I made a homemade chilli using vegetarian mince, a tin of tomatoes, herbs, spices and vegetable stock. The spices I use are: chilli powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne then I used dried oregano. Then a good amount of black pepper and a pinch of salt.
Admittedly, I never use a recipe with my chilli, I make it from taste. This is the best way to do it, then cook all day long either in a slow cooker or in the oven or pan.
This is an easy peasy recipe.
Ingredients:
1tsp paprika
1tsp cumin
1tsp cayenne
1-2tsp chilli powder (adjust to heat preference)
1tsp oregano
1tsp marjoram
300g vegetarian mince
1x 400g can of chopped tomatoes
1 stock cube (beef or vegetable)
2 garlic cloves
1 large onion
Kidney beans are optional
100ml water
Method
In a pan, sweat out the onions in a tsp of oil. Once turning translucent, add in the vegetarian mince (or beef if using meat). and the spices. Cook for 3-5 minutes, until turning brown.
Then add 100ml water and the stock cube, along with herbs and the tin of tomatoes.
Kidney beans can be added.
Cook on low for 4-6 hours, slow cooker or pan/oven is fine.
Cheese nachos are the easiest thing I ever made. A simple cheese sauce made with a roux (butter and plain flour) then milk, a 4 cheese mix and I flavour it with white pepper, mustard powder and cayenne pepper.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp plain flour
2tbsp butter
240ml milk
200g cheese (Blended cheeses are best)
1/2tsp white pepper
1/2tsp mustard powder
Pinch of salt
Good pinch of cayenne
Method
In a pan, melt the butter then add the flour. Cook and whisk until the flour smell has gone.
Slowly add the milk, ensuring the milk is incorporated into the sauce.
Add in the white pepper, pinch of salt, cayenne and mustard powder. Carry on whisking.
Add the cheese, keep stirring and cook for 5 minutes.
I layer the nachos like a lasagne, layer of nachos, a layer of cheese sauce, then another layer of nachos and top off with cheese cause. Last 10 minutes, top off with cheese!
You can also add a layer of chilli in the nachos, usually I do this but really wanted to dip the mozzarella sticks in the chilli this time.
There are many ways you can make this! Give it a try and see how you think.
Final Thoughts
Creating beautiful dishes that are snacky in nature but filling is something I enjoy doing. You can make this meal in so many different ways and using many different products.
The Moy Park Seeded Mozzarella Sticks are delightful and I am really excited to see what else Moy Park come out with in the future!
What do you think of that mozzarella sticks? Would you eat them with a macho cheese sauce or chilli?
