Importance Of Nutrition At Any Age

We spend most of our lives looking at what we eat, when we eat and making sure we get the right nutritional value.

As we age, our metabolism slows down so it’s more imperative with age that we look after ourselves and eat the right balance of foods, with the odd treat of course.

I mean, I would never have thought of foods for illnesses. Ways of eating that can help, this kind of information needs to be more visible for families that have relatives with dementia.

You see it often, usually in newspapers about malnutrition in the elderly. It’s a shame as the elderly did so much for us and some are not looked after correctly. That isn’t how I would want to spend the last years of my life.
They should be golden.

I know I bug my grandparents often, making sure they are eating well. I know they are, but I do think about it often.

We take care of our children, ensuring they eat correctly, why are we not doing this for our elderly family members?

I remember reading something a while ago about a care home local to me under fire for malnutrition of the people in their care. I mean, really? It’s not that hard to make wonderful food on a budget, most of us are on a budget and eat well. I guess that is why so many people with elderly family members turn to the in-home care services of companies like care for family, as it enables them to keep a closer eye on things like their nutrition.
