Festival Fashion: Combining Style and Practicality
Festival season is beginning to approach, and many people will soon be going to their first ever festival. It’s great to stop yourself being sedentary like Chair Despair: The Dangers of a Sedentary Lifestyle! If you’ve ever been to one before, you likely learned some lessons about what you should and shouldn’t wear. But if it’s your first time, you could be struggling with how to both look good and be prepared. While you might have taken a look at this year’s festival fashion trends, you have to keep in mind that it’s not all about looks. Of course, you need to factor in dancing so you can check out this company here about dancing! As well as looking good, you need to wear the right clothes and accessories to survive the festival experience. Give these tips for festival fashion a go.
Keep it practical
You’re going to see your favourite artists, you want to have fun, and maybe you’re even hoping to hook up with someone (or at least get some appreciative looks). You want to look good, and that’s understandable. But most festivals take place outside, and that means you might have to contend with mud, rain, heat, and sweaty crowds. So you need to think practically when you’re choosing your festival clothes. The main area to focus on here is your shoes. It doesn’t matter if it rains unexpectedly and you get a bit wet. But you’ll be feeling sorry for yourself if you’re wearing towering heels or a pair of flip-flops.
Choose comfortable clothes
You can both look good and feel comfortable at a festival. Although you’re basically going to a series of concerts, you don’t want to dress like you’re going to a concert at a music venue or arena. As much as you might want to dress up, comfortable and casual is best. If you want to jazz up your outfit, do it with accessories and makeup. You can find some comfortable and stylish options at Tessuti and on other sites that have curated sections for festival fashion. Think comfy t-shirts and sleeveless tops, shorts, and maybe a loose tunic or shirt dress.
Prepare for different weather
If you’re going to a summer festival in the UK, you can never be quite sure of what you’re going to get. Even if the weather forecast says sunshine, there’s always a change of heavy showers. That means you need to be prepared for anything to happen, from super sunny days to downpours. Take both wellies and a raincoat, as well as sunglasses, a hat and plenty of sunscreen. It can be hard not to overpack, but if you’re struggling, try wearing some of your stuff.
Take the right bag
When you’re out in a crowd, dancing or singing along, you want your hands free for holding a drink, taking a photo or just throwing them in the air. Men tend to be a little luckier in that their clothes usually have sizeable pockets. But if your outfit is lacking, make sure you have the right bag to hold your important stuff. It needs to be big enough for your keys, phone, and money, but not so big that it stops you moving freely.
Looking good at festivals might be a priority, but remember to think practically too. If you’re well prepared, you’ll have a better time.
