Eden Organic Care Avocado Oil

I was sent a bottle of Eden Organic Care Avocado Oil.

Now, I am a massive fan of oils, I have about 10 now, all different kinds that I use for different things, however I have never used avocado oil before so as you can imagine I was very excited to try it.

Oils I believe are great for many things, hair, face, skin and great at tackling dryness.

I use oils on my hair twice a week, with my hair being so dry after having my son, I have been using it regular. My skin is dry and my nails too. In fact, I am dry everywhere.

Using this oil, was fantastic and I will tell you why…

I have to say out of all the oils I have tried, this one has the nicest packaging so far.
It comes in a plastic bottle with a plastic lid with a pearl coloured bottle inside the clear bottle that holds the oil.
Pulling the lid off is easy, it’s really thick plastic so helps it breaking… as you know very well those accidents do happen (Or is it just me that has dropped vials and bottles?)

The pump and the pump holder is painted silver and is really eye catching, especially for those who like shiny things (Magpie anyone?)
There is a little dint on the top of the pump which makes it easier to dispense and stops that awful finger slippage which is quite frustrating.
Using the pump however, is so easy! It dispenses just the right amount in one pump to cover where desired.
I will do each type of use separately just so it is broken up a little and not as confusing.
Hair
Directions state how to use this product on your hair, massaging a small quantity from root to ends and leave for 10 minutes.
I did this and it really worked on the newer hair growth, however on the ends I left for an hour as they are pretty bad.
I used twice a week for a month and I have to say, my hair was much more manageable, knots were gone and my hair felt silky to the touch.
As you wash this one out, your hair isn’t left greasy or heavy with oil which is fabulous.
My hair looked more vibrant and silky smooth, something my hair seriously lacked.
I stopped using it on my hair for a month and my hair went back to how it was… so I know it was this product that worked
(I was going to take before and after pictures, but I have serious case of the hair blues, my hair is falling out pretty bad and is rather embarrassing so shall replace photos in a few months of the effects on my hair when I use it again)
I also used it as a hair mask, put it through hair and wrapped hair in a hot towel freshly out of the dryer and left on head for 30 minutes. Now that really did make my hair shine!
Face
Don’t use around the eye area! You should always use specially formulated products on the eye area as it can cause irritation otherwise.
I used this on my T zone and at the moment my face is combination oily and dry. Now I bet you are sat there thinking… oil on face when face is oily… are you mad?
Well yes… but it works! When you use an oil on your face either as a cleanser or under moisturiser, it slows down oil production on your face. Don’t believe me? Google it!
So, I used this for a month as a cleanser, even though I have not heard anyone use it as a cleanser, I decided to try. I like to try many uses for oils and see how far I can stretch it.
So I used it once to take make up off, foundation and blusher came off rather easily.
I pumped some on a cotton pad, swept across my akin and left for 2 minutes, then using another cotton pad wiped it off with a little extra oil on the cotton wool pad.
Obviously didn’t do eye area, used a specific eye make up remover for that.

Then I decided to use it as a face wash, like you use a hot cloth cleanser. Left it on my face for 10 minutes, using a cloth and hand hot water, wiped the oil away.
It cleansed my skin really well and left my skin soft and had a bit of radiance to it.
I did this for a month, my face was no longer greasy, looked clear and very well moisturised as well as a touch more radiant.
I prefer using it like a hot cloth cleanser, it really did pull out that yucky stuff.
I lastly used it like a face mask, leaving it on freshly cleansed skin for 30 minutes then rinsed off, this had the same benefits as before and left my skin looking amazing.
I only did this once a week.
With my many facial uses, it helped so much stop the over oil production that went on around my nose and I was finally shine free!
Body
Directions state to massage a small amount into skin using a circular motion.
I did exactly that and found it massaged really easily into my skin, eliminating the dry patch instantly as well as not leaving a greasy residue behind. It absorbed quite rapidly.
After a month of daily use, I no longer had dry patches and I will be honest, it helped with the redness of my stretchmarks.
After a week of use, I noticed the redness had started to go and was left with purple marks. After a month they had started to fade to silver.
Usually the stretchmarks take quite a while to go, but I feel they faded quicker using this as I wasn’t using anything else on my skin at the time.
Feet and Hands
I only used this oil for 1 month on my feet and hands as I had other products to test so the length of time wasn’t as desirable, but that made no difference.
Firstly, my feet. Well I do suffer dry patches of skin on my feet, even though I use a pedi once a week.
Iused tiny bits on my feet at first, just on problem areas in the morning then at night would coat my feet and cover my feet in cotton socks to keep the oil on all night long.
The next morning after one use, there wasn’t a patch of dry skin and the harder skin was much softer, making it easier to file off the dead skin on my feet.
The skin around my toes and my cuticles are quite hard and after a few days they were nice and soft, making it easy to do my pedicure.
My feet felt smoother and much more softer. Really liked this so much.
On my hands this worked so well as a cuticle oil. I rubbed a tiny drop around my cuticle area and left it for an hour. It softened it right up so I could complete my manicure.
I also once a week covered my hands and wore cotton gloves over night and the next day my hands were so soft, even the rough skin on my knuckles felt amazing.
My hails seemed stronger and were no longer dry. I suffer badly from dry nails as I wear polish all the time. But when I give my nails a break, this worked so well at eliminating the dryness.
So all in all, this beautiful wonderful oil has many uses… and many more I reckon. Given time, I would find other uses for it and if I do, I will update.
A little bit about what I think of the actual oil
So the oil isn’t thick, in fact it’s quite watery and not that greasy. Most oils are thick, heavy and greasy… but not this particular avocado oil.
It has a green tinge to the colour, but did you expect any different really?
There is a slight scent, not strong at all but smells more like fresh herbs I guess. Avocado doesn’t really have much of a scent but the oil has a grassy/herby scent but you wouldn’t really notice unless you specifically stuck it under your nose.

So if you need an all purpose oil, I suggest trying this one.
