Dr Organic Face and Body Snail Gel

Yes, you heard me right, Dr Organic Face and Body Snail Gel.

Snail Gel, am I mad?

Well I did think so at first!

I was invited to be a Holland and Barrett Good Life Insider, one of the products they sent to me to try was the snail gel and I did eek at first, I am squeamish!

I know you may hear of snail gel and freak out, but honestly, there is no need.

After using the Dr. Organic Snail Gel Hand & Nail Elixir I had to try this.

It’s not snails from the floor, they are born and bred in a laboratory so they are clean and free from earthy stuff, well looked after and free to roam and be a snail and do as a snail does.

Dr Organic Face and Body Snail Gel

So firstly, here is more about the product:

Dr. Organic Snail Gel is a moisturising, soothing, anti-aging gel which harnesses the remarkable cosmetic benefits of Helix Aspersia Muller, a unique substance the snail produces to quickly regenerate its own shell and skin when damaged.
Combined with organic Aloe Vera and our proprietary blend of bioactive ingredients it effectively soothes and hydrates the skin.
Laboratory analysis of this incredible natural extract has shown that Helix Aspersia Muller contains a unique balance of beneficial components including Glycolic Acid, Collagen, Elastin, Allantoin, Vitamins and Minerals.
The unique healing and powers of the snail’s slime, which is harvested without causing any harm, was discovered by chance by snail farmers in Chile who noticed their hands were incredibly soft and hydrated and minor cuts and scars were healing unusually quickly.

Further research and clinical testing found that the secretions contained high levels of naturally occurring allantoine, collagen, elastin and anti-bacterial substances that all have beneficial healing, smoothing and purifying effects on human skin.

Dr Organic Snail Gel, available exclusively to Holland & Barrett, boasts a whole range of anti-ageing benefits including, softened wrinkles, smooth skin and scar reduction. It is free from all petro-chemicals and harsh additives which strip the skin of valuable moisture and can cause long-term damage, including parabens and sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS). This is skincare that’s pure, luxurious and effective.

Dr Organic Snail Gel is produced from snails that are farmed under humane and certified organic conditions. The snails are able to roam freely and the mucus secretion is collected from glass panes that they travel over. The secretion is collected, filtered and then concentrated by vacuum evaporation to reduce its water content before a mild preservative is added to maintain its shelf life.

Now for my review:

I had to read more about the product which I admit, changed my mind and actually got me to try this product.

It can be hard to get over the initial ‘It’s snail slime though’ thought that I kept having.

I am glad I did because, this is one amazing gel and you will see why…

So it came in a beautiful clear jar so you can see that the product is clear.

Easy to open and straight away, you are hit with a lovely vibrant citrus scent.

You would expect it to have a strange scent, but this is purely citrus smelling, infact it’s invogroating, perfect for the morning to perk you up.

The product is a gel, it’s clear and not sticky at all.
Don’t know if it’s just me but I find a lot of gels are sticky and have a strange consistency.
But not this, it’s so good.

The consistency is like a water based gel, it turns slightly runny when warm so it is absolutely great to massage into the skin.
You really don’t need a lot of this product, so the jar will last you quite a while.

As you don’t need a lot, it spreads so easy across the skin, instantly being absorbed and dried in a few seconds, leaving your skin feeling soft, smooth and like after just washing, i.e – no product residue.

It doesn’t clog your skin up, it literally feels like I have nothing on.

After first use, my skin was hydrated, honestly, it felt like I had used a super nourishing heavy moisturiser but all I used was this gel.

After one week of use, my skin started to look clearer and redness was gone.

I have very fine lines on my forehead and these were gone after a week, you wouldn’t notice them unless up close as they are so so fine.
Now I have none.

After two weeks, wow… I had amazing skin.
Spots were gone (Yes, I know.. amazing huh?)
My pores had shrunk so small, as I have been using a cleansing brush to clear my pores, they were super small after using this gel.
No dryness, not a patch anywhere on my skin.

I used it on my elbows too as they are so dry at the moment, with one use they were so soft. Now they are as soft as my hands.

So stop ewwing, get a jar of this and slap it on, it’s totally worth it!

If it’s not for you, check out the rest of the ranges, I am itching to try the rose, lavender and pomegranate… infact, I want to try it all!

Hi, I read your review on Dr Organics Snail Gel. I felt a little ick at first using it but it’s surprising how quickly you forget what the product actually is, and you start to notice the fresh fragrance, the lightness of the gel and for me , that it isn’t gloopy. It’s my one hate-gloopiness!
I’m coming up to 60 and I’m beginning to see tiny wrinkles daring to appear. I wanted something light and natural. I think I may have found it!
Thank you for the review, I found it reassuring, it gave me the courage to try snail gel.
