4 Ways to Make Your Bathroom Look High End on a Budget

We’ve all seen the idyllic bathrooms on Instagram with a huge tub in the middle and a walk-in shower the size of your bedroom, and while that’s a luxury some of us can enjoy, it’s simply not possible for the majority of us. But, that doesn’t stop you from dreaming about transforming your bathroom into a relaxing haven that you can sink back in after a long day. Luckily, there are ways you can turn your bathroom into a zen space without having to spend lots of money. How, I hear you say? Let’s take a look at some suggestions now.

Have a statement wall

When you think about most bathrooms, there’s a good chance all of the walls are one colour, and that’s usually white, cream, or some sort of aquatic colour. Consider having a statement wall in your bathroom to draw the eyes to it and upgrade how expensive it looks instantly. You can use this wall to hang a mirror or display artwork, or you can leave it blank and let the colour or pattern do all of the talking.

Switch out your shower head and faucets

If your shower head and faucets are the same as the ones you moved in with, then it’s probably time to update them anyway. Luckily, you can get them fairly cheap from any hardware store or even online these days, and the quality is so much better than the ones most of us have in our homes. Imagine having a rainfall shower head in your shower cabin and enjoying the sensation of a refreshing shower? And imagine having faucets that not only match but add another layer of class to your bathroom? Pure bliss.

Use self adhesive tiles

If you’ve got old tiling or fancy laying a floor that makes the room look more high end rather than a council estate classic, then you could consider using self adhesive tiles to create a new look. The great part about them is that they are extremely cheap and so easy to install. You simply peel, line it up and stick it down. You can get them in so many places these days, but I recommend taking a look at some of the self adhesive tiles on Etsy so that you can get something that’s a little more unique to your style.

Update your lighting

If your bathroom has a simple light bulb, then there’s a good chance that it’s helping bring the style of your bathroom down. Consider updating your lighting to spotlights to brighten and neaten up the room, and consider adding lighting elsewhere for a stunning ambient effect. Popping LED lights behind your mirror is trending right now, and you don’t even have to call the electrician out to fit it since you can buy battery powered ones that come with a multitude of colours and effects. Imagine soaking in the tub, letting all of that stress go and watching your ambient lighting – the perfect end to a long day!
