Tower Air Fryer Review – Plus 6 Tower Air Fryers That Are Great!
I jumped on the Air Fryer bandwagon and got myself one as I wanted to make different foods but avoid frying so I could be a lot healthier. So this got me thinking about the delicious food I made and wanted to do a Tower Air Fryer Review and also talk about other Air Fryers that there are out there too!
The Air Fryer is similar to an oven as it is a small convection appliance and cooks in the same way an oven does, with a fan that circulates hot air at high temperatures that cooks the food in a similar way to frying, without the submersion in oil.
It’s healthier, quicker and you can cook many delicious dishes without having to fry it.
My favourite at the moment is cauliflower buffalo style wings, they are soft on the inside and have a crispy outside, simply delicious!
So the one I purchased is the Tower 4ltr Manual Vortex Air Fryer Black T17061BLK which has a 30-minute timer and looks sleek in my kitchen! Unfortunately, it has sold out of most places so I have some alternatives later in the post!
I will review my Tower Air Fryer first, then I will give you a few more alternatives from the brand Tower which is an affordable brand for appliances and I have several of their appliances, including microwave, toaster and blender.
I usually make something in my slow cooker and pair with wedges or something I make in my air fryer.
Tower Air Fryer Review
The Air Fryer model I have is the Tower 4ltr Manual Vortex Air Fryer Black T17061BLK which retails between £50 and £70 depending on where you purchase this from and is a really good price. However, this has sold out of a lot of places and I’ve included some alternatives below!
It’s shiny black plastic with silver on the top. There are 2 dials, the heat on top and then the timer below. It’s 4l and plenty roomy for creating delicious meals!
I’ve cooked everything in my Air Fryer from chips to vegetarian foods for me, but also other things like chicken nuggets or burgers for the family.
What I do recommend is to put it on for 5-10 minutes at a time, check the food, give the basket a shake and off you go.
Now what I would advise is to add a little oil to the bottom of your basket as you don’t want your food sticking to the Air Fryer especially if it is coated in flour mixtures. So I get a paper towel and add a small amount of olive oil on to stop it sticking. That is all the oil you need.
You can also use the sprays like fry light or similar. These are much easier to use but I prefer a spot of good old olive oil.
There are millions of Air Fryer recipes now and also instructions on how to cook specific products in it. Which has really helped me with my cooking and stops me overcooking them.
I’d also recommend to write down how you cooked something for next time.
It is quite large and bulky, but I can easily store it above my cupboards for when I need it.
Super easy to use, but some things can take a bit of guesswork in figuring out how long to cook them so needs some adjusting each time.

Tower T17021 Air Fryer
This is a very popular model and I have seen many have this and love it. It’s a budget-friendly one at just under £50, you can get this on offer at some places too.
This is the closest to mine and is a fraction cheaper too!
Tower T17026 Air Fryer 1.6 Litre, Black
The Tower T17026 is a smaller air fryer that holds 1.6l and is great if you are cooking for one or only doing a small amounts of food.
It’s a lot smaller, sleeker and retails at around £35-£40.
If you only have a small family or if you are cooking for yourself, it is better to get a smaller one such as this.
Tower T17039 5-in-1 Digital Air Fryer 11 Litre, Black
Now this is great if you want to cook a whole chicken in a rotisserie style or cook large amounts of food as this one is more like an oven and has an 11-litre capacity.
This is the big Daddy of Air Fryers so if you think the standard ones are not big enough, then look at this one!
It has a window so you can see the items being cooked, I just wish I had space as I would personally use this.

Tower T17023 Air Fryer Oven with Rapid Air Circulation and 30 Min Timer, 2.2 Litre, Black
This is a medium-sized Air fryer that has a 2.2l capacity and looks slimmer than mine.
It’s the perfect size for a small family or single person, to cook enough food safely and looks really great!
Tower T17056BLK Digital Air Fryer 4.5 Litre, Black
If you are looking for a digital version, then this one is certainly for you!
I love the look of the digital version and I will eventually purchase the digital one, but for now I am happy with my manual one.
It looks sleek, stylish and one that is on my list for when I am upgrading!
Tower T17022 Air Fryer 4.3 Litre, Black
Tower T17022 Air Fryer with 30 Minute Manual Timer, 1500 W, 4.3 Litre, Black
This is a very good price, between £40 and £50 – this one is stylish, has a 4.3 litre capacity and is budget friendly.
If you are looking for a cheap Air Fryer, this one or the one I have is better for your budget as you get a large capacity and also under £50!
Final Thoughts
I love my air fryer and have considered getting a larger one for when I have people round but right now, I am just using the standard one as it is perfect for me and my family.
I’ve made delicious meals and will be doing some amazing Air Fryer recipes eventually, so keep an eye out!
