I love highlighters, I prefer powder over cream though and I got the chance to do a Jolie Beauty Second Skin Highlighter Review as Jolie Beauty sent me 2 of their beautiful highlighters to try and review.

The Second Skin highlighters I received are Saintly and Dreaming. The lightest and second to lightest shade.

When I am looking for a highlighter, I don’t want one that is chunky and glittery, I want a nice, natural look to my skin and it’s really important that I need them looking as I like them. It has to be a second skin highlighter for me to consider it.

Now, I do have quite bumpy skin and some highlighters make this worse, so this is a true test of the highlighters and how they look and feel on my skin.

Having the perfect highlighter powder is really important to me so I was really excited to try a new one!

About the product and packaging

The Jolie Beauty Second Skin Collection is a collection of beautiful highlighter shades that are made to look like a second skin. Smoothing over that texture we can have on our skin and giving the appearance of smoother skin.

A very versatile highlighter range that can be used to highlight your face or even your eyes and corner of your eyes. Highlight an area or give you a sunkissed look.

The second skin highlighter can be used over foundation, cream and powder but also on bare skin. This was something I wanted to point out in my Jolie Beauty Second Skin Highlighter review is that they can be worn in many situations.

The Jolie Beauty second skin highlighter comes wrapped in bubble wrap with a white box inside, the box has a reflective rainbow holo look to it which looks fantastic! Inside are the highlighters wrapped up again in bubble wrap.

I enjoy the packaging for the highlighter, it’s a rose gold plastic package that is easy enough to open but stays shut so there is no worrying about it opening whilst being moved about.

There is a lovely large circular mirror inside the compact and the highlighter nestled inside lovely and snug.

It has a bit of weight to it, doesn’t feel cheap and sturdy to have in your bag!

Review of the Jolie Beauty Second Skin Highlighter

As above, the 2 shades for the Second Skin highlighter I received are Saintly and Dreaming.

Saintly is a light champagne shade with a beautiful light gold shift. This is the lightest shade of the range and what I would wear in my winter makeup looks. This is really suited to either light skin tones or in the corner if you want a pop of highlight there.

Dreaming is the next shade up with a warmer shade to it and perfect for the summer looks I create. This is a warmer tone and can be used over a bronzer if you want a touch of highlight to your skin.

Both of the second skin highlighters are just as beautiful and very alike in terms of application and wear.

A very finely milled powder, this feels so silky and glides along the skin so effortlessly. You can either apply in a sweep or buff it into the skin.

When I applied this to my skin under different circumstances, I was very impressed with how it applied. When I used a cream or bare skin after moisturising, I half expected it to clump but it did not, I was able to buff it out for a beautiful highlight look to my skin.

This beautiful highlighter gives me a glow to my skin that doesn’t show the bumps and uneven skin tone that I have. In fact, it looks smoother and more natural! I’ve tried so many and none have made my skin so beautiful looking, especially the kiss of colour from the darker highlighter.

I like how the glitter particles are super fine and not so in your face that it looks less glittery and more like you’d imagine a good highlighter to be!

What I really like about the highlighter is how they are super long-lasting and they stay put all day. I never have to reapply them throughout either!

My skin looks so great and I love how easy they are to apply. Whether you want a sheen on your skin or build up a bit for a pop of colour, you can use these either way and as they are completely buildable, you can get that perfect highlight that suits you and your taste.

I’ve also used these as an eyeshadow too, they are super multipurpose.

Final thoughts of the Second Skin Highlighter

Overall, I am super impressed and they are completely affordable, will last you for ages and the perfect gift for someone close to you. With the beautiful rose gold packaging to the beautiful highlight, this is a showstopper!

From the quality to the product, it’s worth every penny (and more so!)
