Dating has become very popular online since 2020 and there are many ways you can have a successful virtual first date and secure that second date! You don’t have to spend loads of money either, you can be online dating on a shoestring budget.

With lockdowns occurring all over the world, I started writing about lockdown dating and how to successfully date online.

Finding a date can be hard enough as it is, but you need to think of ways to have a wonderful date and get the person you are dating interested in getting to know more about you and score that second date!

So, let’s get into some tips for a successful virtual first date.

How To Have A Successful Virtual First Date – 4 Tips For The First Date

Spend Time Finding Your Date

The first thing you want to do is allow yourself to be a little picky and get to know a few people before you agree to the first date.

Check out a few different dating sites like a Cornwall Dating Site so you can find someone you want to spend time with.

Talk to them first, have a selection of people you want to get to know better and enjoy chatting to them online initially. Don’t jump into the first date with someone and not getting to know them first. It could end up with a disastrous first date and nothing in common.

Don’t blow people off right away, at least have a chat with them and see if there is a park or something in common with you both.

Choosing Your First Date

Once you have found your date, you want to choose what to do on your first date. With a plethora of ideas online, you can have your successful virtual first date and enjoy your time with someone.

You don’t even need to spend a load of money either, think outside the box and try and figure out what your date to be would like. Are they a gamer? Would they like an online gaming date?

Don’t Give Too Much Away On The First Date

It’s always an idea to not give everything away on your first date and make your date want to know you better. Keep the mystery with some things in a playful way and let them get to know you further over a number of dates.

You want to keep the date interesting, but telling your whole life story on your first date can be overwhelming. So keep it short, keep it sweet and allow you both to get to know each other over the course of your dates. Especially if you are thinking about local dating such as Cornwall dating, you want to be sure that you get to know them before you are meeting.

A little mystery never did anyone any harm, keep the balance of opening up but allowing yourself to get deeper in the consecutive dates. Sometimes, too much in a short time can be overwhelming for you both.

Communicate And Keep The Date Interesting

You want to make sure you are communicating and keeping the date interesting. Playing games is a great way to keep them interested and getting to know them better.

Having a silent date will never go far, well, maybe if you are watching a movie together but you still want to keep up the level of communication that they are not bored and it opens up ways to talk and learn more about each other. Just remember not to give too much away. Save that for the second date.

Think about some first date questions that you can ask, allow you both to ask things about each other and start dipping your toe into learning more about each other.

Final Thoughts

We all wonder if online dating is that easy and the answer is yes, it really can be if you take some time to really think about what you are going to be doing.

Just have some fun with your dates and don’t limit yourself too much in terms of meeting the right people. Some might turn out to be fantastic friends, whilst you might also find ‘the one’.
