Budget and Cheap Home Decor Ideas – Ways to spruce up your home
Walls
Walls are so easy when you have some ideas on how to spruce them up.
If they are plain walls, the world is your oyster in coming up with ideas.
Firstly, you can use tester pots of paint you can pick up for very cheap and section off the walls into patterns, such as geometric which is really popular at the moment.
Feature walls have been a thing for a long time, where you have one wall either painted or covered in a wallpaper and makes it stand out more than the rest of the room. Usually this is a wall with a TV on, or something with a focal point of the room. It’s a great way to personalize your home.
You can also try wall stickers which can be taken off easily enough without having to redecorate so is a good option when you need something temporary or live somewhere where you are unable to decorate.
Decorating walls yourself can be cheap but can take some time, especially if you have to strip the walls.
But when you are on a very limited budget, or unable to decorate, wall stickers might be the way to go!
Tiles
You always think of tiles and then think you need to have your room tiled again if you want to change the room.
If the tiles are in good shape, you can just refresh the tiles in many ways!
Tile stickers are a great way to perk up your tiles and you can have anything you like.
There is also tile paint which you can buy and just section off the tiles and give them a lick of paint.
You can also re-grout them in something new. Glitter grout is a thing! I know a few people that use glitter grout with plain tiles and it does look good!
If you want tiles but the costs are too high, then why not try looking at Luxury Vinyl Tiles. It’s an easy way to get the tile look without the costs or the work that needs doing in order to have the tiles.
Tiles are so easy to give a fresh look to. New grout and something like paint, stencilled patterns or stickers.
Floors
Completely changing your flooring can be very costly, so if you are on a budget or you just want to spruce your home but for whatever reason are unable to, then here is some ideas to give your flooring a new look.
If you have lino, wooden or laminate flooring, you can have a look at beautiful vinyl rugs which again you can have them in any style you want, even custom and you just lay them down and they come up easily enough.
Even just a rug across the floor will give it a new look or hide worn carpets.
Painted linoleum is the cheapest way to replace carpets, you can get them in any print so can get something to match your colourful walls!
Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVT Plank Flooring) is another option, it can go over existing flooring also and just slots together. It’s cheaper than laminate flooring and looks beautiful.
If you already have wooden floors or even laminate, you can look at painting them. Painted floors were fashionable years ago, but is an option if you just want an all over colour.
Epoxy is finally another option, but can be hard to get it right, so would need a professional. Still a cheaper option.
Accessorise
You should consider accessorising your house. Simple things such as new cushion covers can make a difference to the room.
You can go for a colour scheme or theme. Whatever makes you happy! There is so muhc you can do with Budget and Cheap Home Decor Ideas.
I’ve decorated a whole room and made it look different just by purchasing decor. For example, purchasing storage is a good way to accessorise a room. You can choose a coloured unit that suits the room, then fill them up with aesthetically pleasing.
Changing the cushions and rugs in the home can make a world of difference.
With so many options, you can make or buy things on the cheap that will fit within your home!
DIY
Found a colour scheme and unable to find things that don’t go with it? Well, why not paint it yourself?
You can usually buy everything in something you can paint yourself.
Shelving units for example you can paint to wherever colour you like. Spray paint decor such as tea light holders, vases, whatever you buy and doesn’t fit, then paint it!
Paint comes in every colour, many finishes.
You could even bedazzel everything! I’ve seen this is catching on and becoming popular now!
There is so much you can do. Why not look on Google or Pintrest for ideas on how to DIY the random things in your home that don’t fit your aesthetic.
Ikea has so many plain items, storage and whatnot also that you can change to suit you. For example, I bought wooden chest of drawers that are desk size and they are plain, the anticipation is to make them into apothecary style cabinets. Just haven’t decided what colour to go yet as my office seems to be pretty much black and white.
You can decorate your office also, I have my own home office as I work from home and it’s so bland. So I have been making loads of ways to make it look beautiful and comfortable at the same time.
Why not give it a go yourself, think outside the box and get searching for ideas online!
