Top Cleaning Hacks To Make Your Home Sparkling

I admit, I love cleaning. I am always found cleaning on my time off or on my breaks. From cleaning the carpets to the sides and bathroom. Working from home has given me more time to do the cleaning when I am free.

Clean your iron

My iron seems to collect black stuff on it over time, it was really annoying me and I struggled finding a way to clean the grime off my iron. Then I found a hack that I couldn’t fail to mention. Turn your iron on full whack, then take a paracetamol tablet and rub over the black marks, this will remove the marks and wipe off so you iron looks brand new!

Clean your oven

I have found so many ways to clean your oven and one of them was to clean the glass. Heat the oven to 90 decrees Celsius and use a dishwasher tablet (They have to be the tablet, not liquid kind) and rub over the glass, this will remove the dirt and grease from the glass. It’s also abrasive so will help with the more stubborn parts.

Clean your washing machine

Washing machines can get dirty over time, have a foul smell and the rubber parts can turn mouldy.
There are so many ways to clean this but my favourite way is to firstly do a wash with white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. This will remove grime and give the washing machine a lovely smell.
I then use a small amount of bleach and do a wash on 90 degrees, ensuring all bacteria is gone. Only use a small amount as this can bubble over with the heat. After, I use some cleansing wipes and get between the rubber, giving it a good scrub to rid of the mildew and mould residing.

Clean your dishwasher

Again, using white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda will ensure your dishwasher is sparing. As most dishwashers are stainless steel, you want to avoid using anything like bleach as this ca discolour or rust over time.
Sprinkle bicarbonate of soda all over the bottom, then put a bowl of white vinegar on the top shelf, leave on the highest setting and allow to clean. Once you have done this, use a cleaning wipe to clean the rims and also any parts that come away like the food collection portion.

Cleaning Vents/Air ducts

Houses built around the 60s can have air vents added, however these can be hard to clean but do recommend to have these cleaned quite often to avoid dust and debris blowing around.
