Controlling the breakouts

I know I am at that age where my skin is becoming more mature but at the same time, from hormone fluctuations, stress and other factors, I am now prone to breakouts.

It’s likely you know someone who is breaking out and a skincare system designed to control the breakouts is a must for glowing skin.

Having a moisturiser, mask and serum are super important so look for a skincare set that includes these for clearer skin.

The best mask types for this are clay-based that are designed to soak up oils, clean out the pores. Don’t forget to exfoliate too as this is important in shedding off the dead skin and giving you a lovely soft, smooth skin.

Fine Lines And Wrinkles

We all get to a point in our life when we start to see the signs of ageing and we then fret about it and want instant results.

The best way to tackle this is to keep up a beauty regime daily and use the same products to see the effects. After about a month, you will start to see the noticeable signs that your skin is less papery, more filled and plump.

You want skincare sets with oil over a serum, they are more hydrating and contain some really good benefits and great at reducing wrinkles.

There are also line fillers, eye creams which are super important and creams that are packed full of vitamins and minerals which are great for aiding a smoother skin.

Dry and Dehydrated Skin

I personally have very dry skin and I look for gift sets that include an exfoliant and products designed to work on dry skin like hyaluronic acid.

Gel-based products are better for dry skin as they sink into the skin much quicker. Also a thicker consistency is also better for the skin so look for skincare specifically tailored for dry skin.

You want products that work deep but not products that are going to dry your skin out further.

Avoid products for oily skin or anything with ‘mattifying’ in the description as this will dry your skin out further and you want more oil production to make your skin less dehydrated.

I prefer oils at night specifically created for dry skin in mind and they will work over night and hydrate.

Remember – it’s easier to use thirst-quenching products at night as it has all night to work, rather than hoping they work quickly in the morning. So save the most nourishing and hydrating heavy creams and oils for the night time.

Also, remember to up your intake of water to keep your body and skin very hydrated.

Sensitive skin

A very important skin type that we have to be mindful of. If you have sensitive skin, you will need to look for products tailored for sensitive skin. However sensitive skin generally comes with another skin type such as dry or oily.

Having a dry-type as well as sensitive means you need to find nourishing products for the dryness that are not going to irritate and inflame your skin.

It’s wise to make a list of products and ingredients you think you are sensitive to and this will help you avoid any further flare-ups in the future.

There are some fantastic skincare giftsets for sensitive skin but check the products.

Facial oils are usually good, as well as serums. Try and avoid clay-based products as this can irritate the skin. Go for gel types instead or even fabric type masks for sensitive skin.

Mature Skin

The final one I wanted to mention is mature skin.

Mature skin is usually a dry type too as with the skin creating less collagen and oils, having a skincare set that suits mature skin is really benenficial.

Some find their skin can also become sensitive.

Firstly, rich facial oils for the night is a must, also face masks that have oils included to give the skin some hydration.

Collagen-based products are a good idea to help the skin become less crepey and plump them up a bit.

My Grandma loves skincare and I make sure I get gentle skincare for her skin, there are many who tailor their skincare routines for the older generation and these are the products I tend to purchase for her.

Along with some rich creams, cream cleansers and also facial oils for the night time.
