Home Security Advice

When I moved home, I wish I had looked for some home security advice. The reason being, that there is spates of break ins and vandalism mainly by kids. So I had to get thinking about ensuring my home is as safe as can be and looking for some good home security.

I already have security cameras from a while back so I had put them up.

There is a security system installed, however, the wires were cut so this didn’t work. But it is also very old and needs updating.

Home Security Advice

The first bit of advice I can offer is when you are looking for things such as security cameras and alarm systems, please ensure you are going with a reputable company.

This is for many reasons, firstly you want a company or retailer that offers home security advice and gives you all the information you need.

Also, you need to ensure that the products you are buying are reliable, work and in good condition. You don’t want them to be easily tampered with or break after a few weeks of use.

I’ve seen many problems using bogus companies or cheap security systems that it was totally pointless and money was wasted. Be expected to pay, but don/t pay over the odds.
Check reviews of the brands and companies to ensure that you are getting the right products and security for your needs. You can even check security companies in Philadelphia.

Now regarding cameras, I would advise consulting a professional, even if it is for advice on where you need your cameras placed. Ensuring all areas covered including anywhere that is hidden or out of sight.

Make sure your vehicles are also covered. This will be helpful to avoid, reduce and record vehicle crime.

But at the same time, read your legal rights on your home security as you can only focus the camera at specific places and not in your neighbours garden if they are not happy with it. They have a right to object.

Choosing the right home security camera

What I would suggest, is to ensure you buy a good branded camera for your home, ensuring you can see during the day and night clearly.

There are also things such as doorbell cameras, which record people coming up to the door. These are also great.

Road test them at retail stores if you are able to, or see if there are videos of it that are available for you to watch and make sure you are buying a good quality camera that you can see clearly. Especially if you need night vision as this can be grainy if they are not good quality home security cameras.

When investing in security cameras, make sure that you can access the recordings, either having them loaded to a cloud-based platform, or directly through a computer or recording box.

Make sure wherever you go with, whatever you purchase – you read all reviews. The good and the bad.
Take them with a pinch of salt as some reviews could be made upon both sides, so see what is more positive and why.

I would recommend looking into protecting your home, it’s worth it in the long run!

But then it gets you thinking about hidden cameras and is it true? Well, be careful when you put yours up and make sure you are notifying neighbours and they are not invading their privacy.
