Is CBD Oil Risky?

Lately I had people forcing CBD oil down my throat telling me that it would make me better. I mean, I use essential oils myself for an array of reasons however this one I was really unsure about.

So I started to dig about online and find out whether this was truly risky, doesn’t work or something more?

First and foremost, make sure you ask your GP before you take this. This can conflict with some medications so you don’t want to be causing horrid issues.

There is no actual real evidence of CBD oil being beneficial and could be in some cases, a placebo.

Now there is research into the use and epilepsy but the answer is varied, depending on who you ask.

A known lack of regulation is concerning, are you sure you are being directed with the correct dosage? What is the strength? Are you taking too much?

Another question is can you have a CBD overdose?

Well, again the answer is varied. Some say no as it is non-toxic but we all know too much of anything is bad for you.

Does it cause long term effects? Well we have no idea as it is fairly new without much medical research long term. So I guess we have to wait it out and see if it does cause any issues. Hopefully not as it is quite common amongst people with chronic pain conditions.

Can you get high from it? Absolutely not as it has been stripped of THC which is the part of the plant that gives you that ‘high’

Make sure you do plenty of research and only purchase it from a reputable brand such as Holland and Barrett, not some random place on the internet as they could be selling you, well anything!

Would I be trying it? Well, no. I don’t like taking things where little is known about it. I prefer to try things that have a lot of testing and long term knowledge about.

By all means, give it a go, but research first and make sure you ask Doctors before you administer it as it may affect other medications you are on.
